Dear Stella Maris Schools Parents and Guardians,
It is currently a challenging time for the world at large due to the widespread cases of Covid-19, popularly referred to as Corona Virus. In the past weeks, there has been a rise in confirmed cases in Nigeria.
As a thriving school community with management always aiming for the best, we have done well to adhere to the highest level of cleanliness and safety procedures to further strengthen existing protocol.
Following the directive of the Federal Ministry of Education on the closure of schools nationwide, we hereby announce the immediate closure of school activities across our campuses.
Parents with children/wards in our Boarding College are advised to pick them up between Friday, March 20 and Sunday, March 22 2020.
The World Health Organization has released basic protective measures against the virus, some of which include, but are not limited to washing your hands regularly, refraining from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, practising respiratory hygiene, social distancing, avoiding handshakes, amongst others.
It’s more important to take extra measures to stay safe while encouraging your child/ward to do same.
A proper hand wash takes about 20 seconds so please spend time washing your palms, in between your fingers and also your thumbs. Rinse well,
then dry. Sounds basic but can help save a life. Also try limiting how much you touch your face.
During these challenging times, we reaffirm our commitment to our parents, our students, our staff and the school community at large.
We will keep you informed on any further developments regarding school policy changes as things are changing daily. Do well to check our website – www.smsabuja.com and social media pages frequently for updates.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
